Who Are We?
We’re a group of people that have had the Lord touch our lives in amazing ways, and we can’t help but share that love—that wonder—with you. Our goal is to draw people from all over the world together and celebrate our lives as one body in Christ. We are a community of broken vessels: we’re human, we’re imperfect, but we serve a perfect Lord.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
— John 8:12
What Do We Do?
Our mission is to help young adults encounter Christ, primarily through art, digital media, community, and mission work. We express our faith through beauty, using the proceeds from our art to fund mission trips and support other apostolates.
What is SET?
SET stands for "Stella et Tua", which is Latin for “Star and Yours”. The star represents the Star that the Three Wise Men saw, which led them to Jesus’ birth. Now, you might think, “That’s cute. But how is that story important to me?”
Even though this happened nearly two thousand years ago, it is still relevant to us today. You, the SET Movement team, and people all over the world are on a journey to Christ. Like the Three Wise Men, each and every one of us is following this star—Christ—to His cross, and taking part in the glory of His resurrection. We’re striving to draw nearer to Christ and take part in the greatest love story of all time. As we grow and continue on this journey, we become the Father’s. During our walk of faith, living in Christ’s light, we begin to obtain that identity as His beloved children.
Isn’t that illuminating?
Meet Our Team
Felipe Saer is a student at the University of Central Florida majoring in Industrial Engineering. He loves to talk about Jesus and enjoys eating... both probably a little bit too much sometimes. But when he’s not doing that you can probably catch him thinking outside the box and finding new and innovative ways of sharing his love for Christ with the world (like this movement). He also has a heart for serving and loving others the same way Christ has.
Cynthia is a part-time student at the University of Central Florida. She is passionate about working with children and families and enjoys leading others to love Christ through activities, programs, and games. She also works as a childcare provider with a third-party company based in Walt Disney World. She enjoys quoting her favorite Disney movies, eating really yummy foods and talking to others about Christ’s love.
Head of Finance
Sebastian Dominguez is a full-time student at the University of Central Florida studying Finance and Accounting with a Computer Science minor. He works as a Tax Accountant intern looking at numbers all day (yay!). When he isn’t busy, you can find Sebastian on the field playing some sort of sport, at the gym, or at Catholic Campus Ministry. He has a passion for serving others and strives to love others the way Jesus has.
Zach Shea is a Computer Science major at the University of Central Florida. He also works as a Product Designer and Developer on various projects, including the SET Movement website, and strives to use technology to improve people's lives. Christina Vazquez is a writer with a passion for prayer (and bad puns.) On a more serious note, she's a Political Science and English double major with a minor in Mass Communication at the University of Central Florida. When she's not at UCF's Catholic Campus Ministry, you can find her listening to 80’s music or eating Nutella.
Matthew Beers is a full-time student at the University of Central Florida studying English Literature and English Language Arts Education, with dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher. He has a heart for service and a passion for learning and experiencing new things.
Alessia is a Psychology major with a minor in Literature at Georgia State University, but is now living in Orlando for the Disney College Program. Back home in Atlanta, when she’s not volunteering at the hospital, you can find her either in the bookstore or at a museum. She plays percussion for her worship band at home, and derives most of her inspiration from the saints. Her main goal in life is to help everyone feel loved by Jesus Christ.
Austin is a junior at the University of Central Florida majoring in Graphic Design. He is passionate about both graphic design and photography. He loves traveling, dogs, ultimate frisbee and food. Austin has been designing for about 6 years and photographing for about 2. He has been very involved with Life Teen summer camps, through which he has found a further foundation in my faith.
Lauren Odio is a soon to be SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) student majoring in Graphic Design. She lives in Costa Rica where her passion for design came to life, beginning her advertising career in 2015. Lauren is joyful and loves to meet new people and visit new places, specially the mountains. You’ll catch her stargazing, thinking about how we should be light to other people, showing Christ’s love through simple but meaningful actions.
Jacqueline (AKA Jackie) is a branding storyteller and passionate "people person" based in Miami, Florida. She is a proud UCF alum who now works full-time as a brand advancement coordinator at a non-profit organization for children in southern Florida. When she's not working on creative projects, you can find Jackie watching an episode of The Office, eating cheese or talking to people about Jesus.
Alejandro is a film major at Valencia College with a technical certificate in Digital Media & Multimedia Design, 3 Adobe certifications, and a jack of all trades in the entertainment field; filmmaker, editor, photographer, graphic designer, and sound guy. Four things he does in his spare time is play video games, watch shows, watch a movie or edit video.
Head of Photography
Chris McLoughlin is an engineering student at the University of Central Florida. He tries his best to live a life to the fullest and never grow up. When he isn’t busy studying for classes or working, Chris loves to be outside, playing his guitar, and take photos. His favorite form of prayer is spontaneous praise and worship. He has a passion for loving people and making silly jokes that no one thinks are funny but they laugh at anyways because they’re actually hilarious.
